Notice how Kucinich looked a little like actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt back here? But what passes for "cute" in one's twenties often looks silly in one's sixties. Now Kucinich resembles a diminutive, Russian peasant.

I'm not partial to Kucinich's political philosophy, particularly on foreign policy, but I do thank you for uploading this as purely a piece of media history, because I was a fan of Tom Snyder's. This is great television, no matter what your political bent!

Yeah, I live in Boston, where back then we'd had our problems with desegregation, etc., but I remember Kucinich being covered in the national media back then, was called everything from "The Boy Mayor" to "Dennis the Menace." From his laughable presidential campaigns, where he'd suggest things like creating a cabinet level "Secretary of Peace," America may now see what a flake Cleveland elected as its mayor back in the day! But, hey, you've got the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame! Be proud of that.

Just be grateful that these time limits don't uniformly exist, so we can get long chunks of video like this, without having to download in multiple segments!

gguerra3: There was a window of time in YouTube's history where people who set up producer accounts would not have a time limit. Some of those accounts are still around, like this one.

Cleveland at that time was a very dynamic place. It was a potential Chicago (across the street from this diner is Lakewood, the most densely populated city between NY and Chicago)but also a potential Allentown. We know which way that has gone, even after the boom we had in the 90's. Now I'm depressed.

How does this guy get 26 minutes when everybody else gets 10?

I lived in Akron, just south of Cleveland, at this time. Kucinich was in way over his head. He became a laughing stock. Some people think that he still is. All I can say is I remember the Cuyahoga river caught fire during his tenure. Kind of symbolic I think.

This is such a good interview. Kucinich has changed a bit since then. I really hope he gets back in congress on March 9th.

Tom Snyder used to be syndicated on Main Stream Media way back when before they sold their souls to the devil. |
