That is Taekwondo, not Karate, just look at the gi he is wearing which is the one that Taekwondo practitioners wear and also notice that he doesn't use his hands at all just a lot of kicks which don't look like the ones Karate uses.

thats only because they are both trained and they know how to dodge. if someone does a flying kick at a nerd like you you'd probably be knocked out on the first kick.
