This is a kaleidoscopic presentation of geometrical drawings by Waldorf school sixth graders. Eugene Schwartz provides commentary on a vast array of student work. Its beauty and mathematical precision testify to the rigorous curriculum of the Waldorf middle school experience.

A 4-minute video cannot do justice to the richness of the Waldorf geometry curriculum, which extends over all 8 grades. Waldorf students learn about Pythagoras in Grade 5 - my class even performed a play about him -- and his theorem is presented several different ways from grades 5 through 8. Euclid's theorems are also taught with rigor in grade 8. Waldorf students LOVE geometry!

we draw that last picture in our school in slovenia and it's pretty hard to do that if you can't imagine it:) but i did it:D

There is nothing inherently dull about geometry! So the first statement in this video already turns me off. And no mention of Pythagorus? Don't pretend to talk to me about the "rigorous" foundation of these patterns without talking about Pythagorus. Don't show me pretty pictures, show me students who will grow up to build bridges that don't fall down. If Waldorf geometry is only about the aesthetics of geometric patterns, then Waldorf is not teaching geometry. It is teaching aesthetics.

I haven't visited your school, but I hope to see it one day; it is world-renowned.

I know your teacher very well and I agree that she is the best! Enjoy your Geometry block and say hello to Mrs. Bennett.
