アルバム「ソリッド・ステイト・サヴァイアー」を作成しているところだね。それにしても坂本氏のキボードの技術はすごいよね。

MAN it's so crazy that all that big bulky machinery with buttons is what they used to make music. IT'S AWESUM!

I think the computer (sequencer) is indeed Rolan MC-8: it was released 1977, and since they're demoing songs from Solid State Survivor (1979), it would make sense.

I believe Sakamoto did not use the fairlight until later, when he was solo. Maybe starting with "b-2 Unit". But, from what I remember, that did not feature the Fairlight yet either.

I think the computer they were talking about was the sequencer that they were using. I believe it is one of the few (8) early Roland micocomposer, later to become the MC-8.You see him typing in the notes and note lengths. That sequencer controls the moog system and the other synths by translating the note data to CV.

MIDI didn't come out until 1983. But they did have samplers back then; more than likely a Fairlight or something similar with maybe a few CV/Gate sequencers

When they said computer, it made me wonder what kind of computer system they had back then. Did they have MIDI then?
