Well first off, I was myself a little disapointed with Dismantle. There were some good songs like Miracle Drug, Crumbs From Your Table, and Original of the Speices. And obviously music is just opinion, so you do have the right to say that All that You Can't Leave Behind is bad, even though I do think it's ONE of their strongest, if not the stongest album. You just sound silly when you say that they have to many new slow songs, listen to their first couple of albums man, many slow songs on those.

I understand where you are coming from. Their style and songs have changed quite a bit. but they still mean a lot to die hard fans. the songs may not fit into some peoples idea of good music, and i truly respect everyone has their own taste, but U2 has and always will be a truly amazing band. ...and i totally agree with the fact they are getting slower =/ no bueno.

Vertigo was almost a great song, but with lyrics like "they twinkle as the boys play rock and roll", it cant quite make it.And All Because of You is even worse: "I like the sound of my own voice, I didnt give anyone else a choice, an intellectual tortoise, racing with your bullet train" (with nauseatingly clashing vocal harmonies, Bono vs Bono).It was seeing "U23D" that reminded me how great they once were, and still are in concert ... it's just in the studio that they need to wake up.

I agree 100%, its been all downhill since AB, but the last two albums in particular have been truly awful. Some songs on the last album had potential (All Because of You, Crumbs from Your Table) but were overmixed and mangled and had lyrics much worse than even the infamous "October" ones. Ironically, there might be a new album in October, and I really hope they come back with a new surreal masterpiece to put alongside Achtung Baby. But Im not holding my breath this time.

remember when u2 was cool? Why can't they make songs like this anymore? The last two albums have sucked so bad, and I don't have much hope for the next one. My theory is that Bono is so devoted to business side of the industry that he has lost sight of the music. I predict the new album will be one part lame-sappy slow songs (stuck in a moment) and one part lame rock/pop songs (vertigo).
