it can be frustrating to not be able to communicate with people around you, but realistically you really have no grounds to say "live here, learn english." It's to their advantage to learn, but its pretty much all racism in the first place.

I've heard some white racists say they love the fact that there is plenty of Spanish speaking television programs, radio stations and Spanish language newspapers available for Mexican-Latino immigrants. It means they will never speak English good enough ever to take over professional and political positions in the U.S. They will always be confined to non-professional/unskilled positions.Go figure? If you think about it..

I am a Colombian currently living in USA, and I agree that you should learn the language if you plan to go to another country, especially if you are going to live there.I have met many Latin Americans who aren't interested in learning English and I am not talking about illegal aliens, but naturalized citizens who have been here for 20 years maybe more. I speak more than them and I've been here just for a year. that's lack of interest!!!
