The power of this song stems from Hoagy Carmichael's soaring melody. Who played sax on this recording? The iconic performance of this is Linda Ronstadt's with Nelson Riddle.

Savannah has a strange vibe to it. Not so much good/bad, just strange. At least it was so when I was there in '99. I enjoyed it a lot anyway. Very scenic - kinda' "Gothy" with all the Spanish Moss the architecture and brick streets. "Midnight..." is/was a huge part of Historic Savannah's tourism and the soundtrack could be heard in nearly as many places as the "Bird Girl" could be seen. Including this song.

This song was such a high note and pulse of the movie, and I should have realized it was KD making it so.

Yep...lets make it two. And...the Derby on the tv. Only one thing would make it perfect...the radio playing in the dark kitchen out of view, and barely audible.
