I've been playing khaen for almost 6 years now. It took me about 2 years to be able to play pretty decent. It takes a lot of practice to play khaen especially since I'm American and my ear in the beginning wasn't used to the rhythm or tunes of Lao and Thai music. I also love to play khaen so it was possible for me to get to where I'm at now.
