Kemetkush - Not from South Africa, from what we know no slaves were taken from SA, I'm not sure about our neighbours (Namibia, Botswana, Zim & Moz), I doubt if there were any from Swaziland and Lesotho. Instead slaves were brought from South East Asia (Malaysia, Indonesia, etc) and India to South Africa. African Americans are mainly from West Africa and black Britons (if I can call them that) and those who're in the Middle East are mainly from East and Central Africa.

Why am I not surprised,Tanzania depends on handouts thats why the country is exploited by Indians&left out2dry. You guys need2wake up,this is the 21st Century.Simmons is there4himself,b4 he can even think of 'helping' Africa he should help young African Americans who can't read&write.USA is a land of opportunities yet many African Americans r falling through the cracks&left behind by immigrants from Africa,they are in2drugs&r the majority in US jails,what does that tell you.Charity begins@home.

Skills that Africa needs, the capability to develop the sectors I've mentioned in my previous comment are what African Americans don't have. What does Russel Simmons know about mining. At this point in our lives Africans shouldn't be giving concessions to foreign individuals, but to their own people/ corporations that can do a lot more. Also, to move forward we need to strengthen trade amongst ourselves. In SA we've been fighting to get involved in every sector & are going to win.
