Actually I answered my own question. Anybody who wonders what version of firmware they have can visit the Panasonic website and search for the TZ5 and go to their software download section. There you can find instructions to help you locate the firmware version.

I recently purchased the TZ4 at Costco for a trip to NYC. I went back a month later and they had the TZ5 for less than I paid! Needless to say I am now the owner of the TZ5 and excited to try the HD video feature. If I just purchased the camera will I need the firmware update?PS. I'm from Seattle and will try to post some local videos.

I would tend to stop and start and piece a lot of shorter clips together anyways, so no worries!

i bought this camera 5/30/08 it has been at panasonic in chicago being repaired 2 times. when i turned the camera on it would tell me to turn camera off and on again.. they cant seem to get this fixed and wont send me a new camera until this happens a third time, then it has to be reviewed by a field rep to make that decision. i have dodumentation to varify that im telling the truth.. buy the waranty if you buy this camera..

i was moving very slow.I took my camera up to the lake to video friends wakeboarding.I had to be very still if i had the camera zoomed either 8-10%which is tough on a boat.I just zoomed out to 4-6% and it looks great |
