i think the video is about the loss of someone whom we love. The boy looses his friend and the spice girsl loose ginger spice; a fact illustrated at the end of the video, only 4 fairies come out from the box

Being serious - I think it means that he's loved 1000 girls, but they're always the puzzle he can never solve - i.e. the relationship never works out? Sounds like my life lol.
