Man no one knows how to play this game correctly. If you never pick up the new lasers then a P appears where the orange laser shows up. If you just follow the mini bosses right after that extra P really closely with the orange laser you can kill them before they even fire. Amazing game, but looks much better on the Genesis.

Beautiful music, as per Toaplan's usual standard. I agree about the PCE version sounding better than the arcade and Genesis versions too, it's got such a nice warm tone to it.

i found that you should never have 5 guns never max out your weapons as no more "p" power ups will appear then if you die you will have to collect 5 all over again which at later stages is impossible. always try to have 4 "p"s then if you die the next one to appear is usually a p

lots of tricks but the best thing is to memorise the patterns as suggested by davbob. after the first cycle the number of bullets on the screen is insane, but by then you have the 5 blue lasers most of the time and zap nearly everything that comes in from the top and sides. any recommendations for best way to record from mame?

good clip, thanks for sharing. totally loved this game when it was in the arcades (mid '90s), got the MD version (rubbish) and then the mame (excellent, true to form). mini (read: sad) claim to fame on this game is that i managed to complete 3 whole cycles (i.e. level 600+) on the arcade machine (hard mode) without dying... had to go home in the end, had to leave it for my friends to continue. |
