Charlie Byrd's version of "speak low" is also superb.

The name of the music is corcovado? How can I speak this?

Wonderfully effortless, swinging and melodic. The nylon string, and acoustic guitar in general, is underused in jazz. I find it more expressive than the typical, generic electric jazz guitar tone- and a lot warmer, especially with the fingers.

What a incredible FingerStyle/Classical/Jazz guitarist. It's amazing feat in itself that Charlie Byrd developed into a phenomenal swinging jazz musician after many years of primarily playing and being taught in the classical guitar tradition.

It's a great performance. Also shows that we can play well into old age.

Damn, another great gone. Flawless, gotta love the way the other two old guitarists are spellbound. Byrd's up there in music heaven now with Django and Segovia, two of his biggest influences. |
