I definitely believe Rowling is familiar with the superhero comics and the Dungeons & Dragon universe. The Harry Potter series has elements of all of those, along with the Sherlock Holmes style delivery.

Pretty good, but I personally love the X-Men (movies and comics and tv series) but don't really like Harry Potter. And also if these two have similar things going on, Harry Potter stole it from X-Men (because the X-Men have been around since 1963 and I think Harry Potter first came around in the 90s), but I think its all just a coincidence.
