Very well said.--The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift. -Albert Einstein

That wasnt the purpose of this video. If you want evidence discrediting ID, read a fucking book.

You talk about everything from the Holocaust to a flat earth to 'religion' to Yoko Ono to fishnets. I thought we were talking about where life came from. This video is devoid of evidence discrediting intelligent design.

Again, i don't force my ideas on reality. I end up at the most plausible answer for the question asked. There is no point to living by something if you have to force yourself to believe in it.I speak of your upbringing because when you made points about religious people earlier in this discussion, you compared everything to the people you grew up around and how terrible they were.

I offer no 'facts' on philosophical discussions as they are usually terribly subjective and up to individual interpretation. Thank you for like the 56th straw man you've attempted.

Do you know what a diversionary tactic is? It's when a person who doesn't believe in any supreme being is asked where matter came from and they rant about all sorts of other things besides the fact that they have no idea. Does that mean a supreme being did it? Nope, but an admittance that the person doesn't know would be nice from time to time. you gave me that so thanks"I have no need for faith." wait...you have it all figured out?You can really stop trying to insult my intelligence.

It doesn't determine my definition of reality either, it helps answer why I'm here. That's all.I have yet to try and make up how quantum physics works, another terrible implication added to your long list of terrible implications. Neither do I believe morality is based on magic. I believe it is based on something greater than those of us who adhere to it. I'm sure you have many wonderful things to say about spirituality when you converse with your friends...lol...
DeadlyChinchilla (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
As I never claimed to have them all, its a useless point to make. You keep avoiding topics and run off on emotional rants, when all I'd like to hear out of you is..."I can't make up how Quantum Physics works, and morality is not based on magic."See how specific those actual points are? Your bantering on about my upbringing isn't.Btw, I have many spiritual friends who don't let it rule their definition of reality. You seem to think I hate spirituality in general, which is pure BS.
DeadlyChinchilla (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
When you claim to be a "truth seeker," then you tell me your definition of morality is one that can't be defined, when I know for a fact that morality is set in biological history and cultural influence... then, yes, I question YOU. Not others, just YOU.You keep trying to make this about other people, and about my upbringing, when its just you and me and all the false 'facts' you like to make up.
DeadlyChinchilla (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Yes, now you jump to huge questions, demanding ridiculous answers, because you can't actually address the topic at hand. Its a diversionary tactic, and a sad one at that.I have no need for faith. I investigate, and if I'm proven wrong on something, I shake the hand that did it. I doubt I'll ever be shaking yours. |
