I started reading the book that I picked up in a supermarket, having known people from Sierria Leone who were active and involved in the political side of the conflict, I decided this book was probably more interesting than reading about a hollywood film.I had known of the child soldier and the drug use and the atrocities, but it was a good thing to refesh my mind and to read of one account, it left me grateful for both Ismael's survival and for my own gracefully free & peaceful life.

shit we're reading this book in english 2 honors and we were supposed to read through chapter 4 for homework and i ended up reading about 100 pages that night lolreally good book, i just wish he wouldve talked about the transition to america at the end
