The use of blues licks don´t refer necessarily to "youngster" if you´re meaning about level dexterity, rather I think a lot of newbie guitar players, tend to try hopelessly of sound complex by indiscriminate use of outside stuff and ultra altered scales..they lose the roots, they lose one primal essence of jazz..The Blues.Pat Martino is able to reach high musical moments just by playing incredible melodic and bluesy riffs on many bars or even full choruses cycles.

wow. Krantz used to swing pretty hard. I like what he has developed into a lot more.

You made it sound like that was a bad thing!

This also isn't his gig, so he was probably playing more stylistic on purpose. not to mention this is a rediculous solo anyways, although a little bit 80's out for me. Krantz is a beast!

Not really. I asked because I was concerned. If it happened to me, I wouldn't mind it if people asked me. He was obviously a good bass player anyway.

That's a pretty personal question for a stranger, no? |
