That's great that you still have the files, do you think you could send them to me? I have an older machine with Sabayon Linux, which I think will be able to run it.

actually dude, it I've found that my system actually runs BETTER with compiz enabled, cuz work that would normally be done by the CPU and stored in ram is offloaded the the grapics card (which is typically idle during desktop use).

I would recommend talking to UbuntuLee. If anyone knows how to get it running on that system, it's him!!! :D

I do have the files, but I imagine there would be complications with the newest drivers.Best bet for anyone is Sabayon Linux. It comes with Compiz-Fusion and Video drivers pre-installed. In fact you can run it "Live" off the burned DVD with all programs too. The install is very easy and after some time you can learn to tweak the settings to do anything and more than I've done here in SuSE Compiz-Quinn!!! :D

make sure you have the proper video drivers... cuz then they wont work ... im just assuming here... if you have the drivers... well what error do you get trying to install??
