An old Republican was asked by his democratic friend what he thought of gun control, the short version. His answer, "When you come to take our guns, we will just kill you." I, personally, am not against people's rights to bear firearms. In fact, I'm totally for it. I think they should have that right.I just don't like Charlton Heston. I think he was a huge asshole. But still, I'm all for the American right to bear arms.

Defending my position? Get real. It has nothing to do with position. If a bad guy tries to do harm to my family, I or my wife will use firearms to stop the aggression. No position - just fact. You need to read the books I recommended. As this conversation is going nowhere no need to try to explain the value of self-defense. Both Australia and UK have proved how crime increases when victims are disarmed by the government.
