i am reading the past comments. and they r ture. it isnt very practicle, it is short and it will only be used as a privacy breeching tool for spying or something like that. why not just leave the robot alone, and place more fundings into the medical system. also, any doctor who looses patients by "negligence" can get the boot from the system we dont need them and u may be thinking that the whole purpose of this is to aid before doctors come which is good but not good due to the chance of mistake

A doctor can make mistakes, same with a emts we all make mistakes look how many doctors and emts accidentally killed people based on negligents We can use this tool to help but we shouldnt rely on it as the only means because of your what if's (like break down, malfunction, a table thats in the way)

OH NOES!! The helper robots (that aren't even sentient) are going to rebel and destroy teh world!! That is, if the LHC doesn't make micro black holes and/or strangelets to suck up the world/turn us all into strange matter!! And if that doesn't happen, then we will all be killed by the apocalypse on 2012!! Eep!Ahh, paranoia.

JULZHU, I command you to watch Wall-E. You will IMMEDIATELY change your position on the evilness of robots. If you don't, go up to the ticket booth and ask for your money back. It probably won't help you a bit, but I think it will be funny.
Pewpewlas3rgun (October 4, 2008 at 11:27 pm)
So what if it malfunctions? God forbid it shuts down the elderly person has to fend for themselves (or have to get a human loved one/caretaker to come and help them) for a few hours while it is fixed, like they did before the advent of such machines? And what's the worst wrong decision it could make? It checks the person's heartrate when he asks for a glass of water? Stop being so paranoid.
Pewpewlas3rgun (October 4, 2008 at 11:22 pm)
So I suppose you have the money or time to visit your elderly parents whenever they are not answering the phone, or they ask you to come help with something (i.e. the fridge/toilet), especially if they live in another state or country? And besides, this guy is even more useful for the former, because if they, for example, are not answering the phone due to illness, you will probably arrive at their house too late. But with the robot you can "arrive" at their house and check on them instantly. |
