you're kidding! Moving pictures date back to the mid to late 1800s. Silent films continued until 1929 when 'talking pictures' took over. The blues have been around a few hundred years. Look into the history - its very interesting

This music really does something to me. I don't feel rap or hip hop much. It just doesn't speak to me the way this music does. And Bessie Smith had such a tremendous voice... No one could EVER doubt a word that she sings. A person just knows it's from the heart and soul. It's raw and it's passionate. Powerful singing and music.

pepole who dont have any feelings 4/this deep blues music in my opinion r/not lovers of music...these blues singers had style deep passion and spoke 2/break all racist barriers in this world .good and bad in all race also...quality BESSIE SMITH just 1/of many female LEGENEDS..BLESSED..PEACE..

I was enthralled from the first seconds of this. Then the Hollywood shit started and I couldn't bear it. So: two minutes or so of legendary film footage. I think Bessie Smith had the most lost potential of any figure in American popular music history.
