I'm a big fan of both these guys and while there's no denying that it's uncomfortable viewing it's also bullshit free. Dave lets his professionalism and Talkshow Host veneer slip when Harvey's getting in his face. Sad that such an odd, but unmissable, TV relationship had to end in this manner.

If you look at prior pekar appearences on lettermen you will see that they totally exploited him and misrepresented him a total wackjob or whatever... he always said that he only did the show to promote his book and felt like a sellout for doing so. Pekar is not a mainstream kinda artist and this is a totally mainstream kinda show. Harvey Pekar is a hero to blue collar stiifs who realize that so much of this world we live in is a sham. Thanks for the hard work, Harvey.
