Lack of compatible software, that is turning into a myth, if you are going to get serious on music, for example, get a Mac. the same vst pc version vs mac version, i guarantee it goes better the mac version. Also if you need stability go for the mac, i have both and my pc child puts me on trouble from time to time, so i cannot rely saving my data on a Pc anymore, or record audio, or programming, so i love the Mac

Mac is built on the UNIX kernel making it alot safer then PC's.. Yes Mac get's virus but its very low and most are patched in OX 10.5 The only downside to Mac is lack of compatible Software but thats what you get if you want a safer computer.. One virus for the Mac was (Osx Leep) iChat Virus..

Chris' secret Google tool is not persistent across reboots. Setting the options in OS X's Quartz Debug and the force-quitting Quartz Debug will make the changes permanent across reboots.
