next time you are back in England, make sure it coincides with an Airshow!! :-D Have a look on the BBMF website, and they tell you what airshows the Lanc, Spit and Hurricane are flying over!Next one i am off to is Shoreham at the end of August.

Lucky you! I haven't heard a Merlin engine for a few years & am suffering from withdrawal symptoms. A few years ago, whilst staying with friends in England, the only flying Lockheed Constellation flew over low. I rushed to the window - magnificent sight, but couldn't help noticing the gardener look up for an instant, only to resume digging, as though it was "just another of those damned Constellations." So, even some men are disinterested. TTFN

I am British, but female, and I know what you mean Gruntol! Fabulous sound! Saw our Lanc at Farnborough this year, and got quite choked up as she roared overhead. Fantastic!

Thanks for the explanation. What you lost in picture quality, you made up for in sound. You caught the sound of those RR Merlins beautifully. I can never hear them without being overcome by emotion. My wife thinks there's something wrong with me! But she's a Yank & I am English. They'll never understand.

Hi, Original Video was in 16:9 ratio. In compression view was lost. Video quality is also much less than the original. Sorry about that. Maybe I'll do it again. Thanks for the response.

The aspect ratio of this film is all wrong, making the Lancaster look short by about 30%! What the hell happened?
