It's hard to answer that never having heard you play. But within this style, try to play chord tones on down beats. I'll send you a message shortly with a link to more detailed discussion about that.

I'm not really a licks-oriented guy. I try my best to make a melodic statement. It's something I'm working on though.It's interesting that you mention Bill Evans though, There's a recording he did with Miles Davis of "Love For Sale" and I find some similarities of phrasing between this and that.Thanks for listening.
