Love Johnny Winter. Started listening to him when I was 16.

Re: 12-string guitar. If'n you look fer other vids of him playing this song, he mostly played it on a Fender XII that, indeed, only has 6 strings on it. I seem to recall that's because it's in an altered tuning for slide, but I keep rumaging around looking for the clues that led me to that discovery in the first place. Anyone know which tuning? Open A, perhaps?

My older brother used to blast me out with Johnny (live) back then. Then I got to see Johnny in Vancoouver about 10 yrs. ago. Look at his homepage, he may be in your town soon!

It's a 12 string guitar, but I'm almost positive that it's only got 6 strings on it. I'm only hearing and seeing six.

I know, when I first heard "Hoochie Coochie Man" on the Atlanta Pop Festival CD I thought Johnny came out and jammed with the Brothers.. but then my dad told me it was Berry singing. |
