Reagan had principles and ideas at the core of his actions, not "whatever fits the moment and gets the most votes". And the Soviets are not terrorists. They are a political party that believes in central control of your life and what you have. BIG difference. (I use the current tense because communism as an ideology still exists...can you spot where it does? You get a cookie if you can!)

He's just as corrupt as any world leader is, they're all untrustworthy buttholes. He brought down the USSR, yes. He also sold weapons to terrorists, woops i mean, "freedom fighters". Ever heard of the Contra? Yeah, he supported them, murderers, rapists, thieves, thugs. He supported fascist regimes throughout Central America, that killed and imprisoned those who spoke against their government. But they weren't socialists, so that makes it ok in the eyes of this guy and lots of other idiots.

Although I disagree with many of his policies, it's hard not to like Reagan as a person and admire his ability to connect with people. His wit and character are strongly missed right now.

To say Reagan's talks with the Soviets was appeasement is laughable. He had goals in mind:To bring down the Soviet Union and their communist empire. And to see the Berlin wall fall and free many in Eastern Europe. But there was no appeasement involved.
