Actually, theremins have been around for nearly a century, and have changed in design very little, but newer models allow the tone to be changed (on some models).

Theremins can cost between $150 for the B3, $200 B3 Delux, $300 B3 Pro, $400 Moog Etherwave Standard, $800 Wavefront Travelcase, $1800 Wavefront Classic Style, many thousands for original RCA.

how much do they cost?

wtf is that o.O, that a new instrument?

For the most part, at the moment, the theremin is one of those instruments one must teach themselves on, unless you live near one of the masters.I am working on a dvd which will cover more theremin instructions in greater detail, but you will still have to be self motivated to learn, and teach yourself the theremin. There are very few people around who teach. There are a few books, and one, or two other video tutorials by other master thereminists. It takes a few years, & hours a day.

I really want to get one. Is it self taught? How long does it take to master? This is a really informative video. Thank you!

This is perfectly understandable. Also, have him check out Theremin Concert on Burns B3 Deluxe video.

my brother is stupid, he says this isn't an instrument just because you don't touch anything. He thinks its a toy. Maybe this video will change his mind. |
