"The original story"? It's a legend, passed down through oral traditions, with probably thousands of variations. Whatever the story started as has been long lost to time, and there are many, many, many versions now, most just as authentic as the rest. Besides, I've read or seen three non-Disney versions of the story, and ALL of them have Beauty/Belle overlooking beast's anger and turning him into a prince through tolerance, which is the aspect they were criticizing Disney for.

if you actually read the original story, you would have known that the film has very little if nothing to do with the tale.

While I agree with much of this, they can't really criticize Disney for Belle's behavior in Beauty and the Beast. Disney DID NOT write this story; it's several centuries old.

I like Disney's stuff and grew up on it and I turned out okay, but the point here is that kids who aren't as able to question what they think they know can get taken into the corporate game. I love to analyze Disney films and still find them heartfelt and entertaining, but that doesn't mean I have to buy every new gadget made by Haitian children that the company puts out.

yeah! fantasia is the best thing i've ever seen! all the scenes synchronized with classical music. it's beautiful. it inspired me to listen classical music and have piano lessons.

I wouldn't be surprised if they suddenly start with Full House were three full grown men living alone with three underage girls. Disney is not corrupting the children, its what parents are allowing them to watch> my parents only let me watch 30 min of tv a day if not every 3 days.

I grew up on Disney and I turned out alright. My favorite movies were Fantasia and the Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Disney's not trying to corrupt our minds, why do you guys think Disney is evil, this is like saying the Jews are evil. Disney is not trying to corrupt our minds, they are peaceful and the only monsters around are you guys. |
