Ahmad Jamal is and will always be the quintessence of taste, grace, musicality and swing in jazz playing. I was lucky enough to spent an afternoon with him a couple years ago in Italy, such a gentleman and a warm person. God bless you mr. Jamal!

God bless all the cats that struggled to get this music out at a time when seperate boarding facilities-and worse-were a given in much of the country. i have nothing but love for ahmad jamal. but is it just me, or does he use that exact same little ending tag to finish almost every single one of his tunes? a good majority of the recordings i have of his end the exact same way in that last half a second of the tune.

Man he's just a kid here! Stil, i personally think this is his greatest period, and his greatest trio, because their playing is so light and subtle. Later on his playing wil get heavyer and more grooving and lose it's famous light touch. This is great vid, Is it from a dvd? I want to see the rest!
