It's a down right shame how Jim Thorpe was treated by his people.By his people I mean Americans. This guy was the Michael Jordan of his day.I'm not Irish American or German American I'm just American. Racism sucks. If a person works ,takes care of his or her family basically a good human being then I respect that person, male, female ,whatever color of skin.My brother is a sorry as they come.I won't even let him in my home.Racism .....bad...

Buster Keaton gave employment to at least one other Native American...his special effects man Fred Gabouri was, I believe, a Seneca.According to his sister, the Keaton family was also part Native American. (Buster probably hired for talent, regardless of background).

My dad and friends met Thorpe in the late 30's outside a beer hall in central Oklahoma. He was feeling no pain, but was courteous to his young fans. A great moment for my dad. He loved Thorpe.

Thorpe and Keaton's greatness will be appreciated a lot longer than ESPN.
