I was 19 years in 1971 when I worked for the EM Club ball room as a bartender while I went to college in Sasebo. I often listened to this music. I too say a little prayer for American soldiers fighting for peace.

When my boyfriend wrote me letters from VietNam in 1967 this was "our" song.Every time I heard it on the radio I would say a little prayer for him and my brother who was also in Vietnam at the time. I was 16 then. Now we need to "Say A Little Prayer" for all those in Iraq & Afghanistan and wherever our soldiers are in this world. May some sweet day we have PEACE on earth!!!

I'm so used to Aretha's version,but I think,I mean I know,I prefer Dionne's version.The harmonies are fabulous,it's rolling music.And that opening!Burt's a genius.

Great song, but didn't Aretha do such a good job on her cover?

Oh yes....the very original...the first to record this song was Ms.Warwick...and Burt Bacharach wrote this song thinking on his protegeé.....She record originally many of Bacharach's song.....

I just love the opening dialogue that offers a brief glimpse at Bacharach adjusting the arrangement to make what turned out to be a pop masterpiece. Well rehearsed. Excellent production. |
