This song was pitched in a comfortable range for Bob. That is largely why his voice is uncharacteristically pleasing on this track. Mostly he strains higher than his voice really wants to go. Live, he seems to feel he must constantly re-invent the phrasing, which can be either interesting or frustrating, depending on your patience and openness to improvisation. We all have a picture of the song and sometimes it ruins it to hear it tampered with, even by the artist who created it.
