http://www.ted.com Neuroanatomist Jill Bolte Taylor had an opportunity few brain scientists would wish for: One morning, she realized she was having a massive stroke. As it happened -- as she felt her brain functions slip away one by one, speech, movement, understanding -- she studied and remembered every moment. This is a powerful story about how our brains define us and connect us to the world and to one another.

I think her story is amazing, life changing really. What would happen if we could all live more in the right side of our brain?

> She seems more like an actress than a scientist. Then again the two aren't mutually exclusive.Well maybe she also wrote a paper in a peer-reviewed journal. =)

Did you keep the golf ball-sized blood clot in a jar on your desk? ;)

My take was that she was using a form of presentation to get her point across. She's probably practiced a lot to try to get her point across. It may be that the exaggeration is her way of getting past the emotion of the memories so that she can share them.
