These lenses are manufactured by Panasonic "using measurement instruments and quality assurance systems that have been certified by Leica Camera AG based on the company's quality standards". As such, whether these are strictly "Leica" lenses or not is occasionally disputed, but generally, Panasonic and Leica are considered joint development partners for this equipment. Regardless of their origin, these lenses are generally regarded as very high quality.I rest my case... :)

I'm not gonna argue with you, but it seems like you are very sure that Leica lenses are the most expensive lenses in the world. I correct myself. This is what it's said on Wikipedia:

Yes leica had been making LENSES for about 100 years but how can it be possible that they make up a lens which ofcourse is the most expensive lens in the world and place it in a 200 - 500 pounds camera, which tends to be the price of the camera itself. Sony place their own lens in the camera's (many people say its Tamaron lens) and sale their camera's as Carl Zeiss. Taking pictures is the easiest thing as all the camera's do have shutter release button but taking good one's is hard =)

True as well. It takes a lot more than some photography lessons and an expensive camera to be even remotely good at it.

you can not buy the talent... you achieve it... these days new photographers just have the talent of showing off their New DSLR not the talent ;)

It is not a Leica lens.. Its just an advertising flare.. Lumix have got permission from Leica to place an their name on the top of the lens to raise their sale, just like Carl zeiss of Sony. There is no way they can place very expensive Lenses on these camera's. I will agree to the point of un experienced photographers with DSLR's.

First of all, Lumix is not a company. Second, this camera is made by Panasonic and Leica. And yes, Leica has been made cameras for almost a hundred years now. And why do you think taking pictures should be a difficult thing? If you don't like it, don't care about it. There are still professional DSLR's out there, and this one is no way near. Don't worry.
