Man i love Epiphones, Theyre cheap and are very good. I have a SG and Les paul with EMGs and i love it. Thats my opinion.

i own sgs, les pauls, and epiphones... none of them stay in tune like a stratocaster with a blocked tremolo. i'm not giving you shit; i'm saying that gibson really needs to look at their nuts. their nuts are cut either too shallow.. or God knows what. my only beef with gibson is that they don't stay in tune with even normal bending, much less albert king type bending. maybe they should go with a prs type nut.

his guitars don't stay in tune because the nuts are cut for gauge 9 and 10 strings, if you put 11's in there they won't seat right, the best thing you can do is order a bone nut that is cut for the size strings you use, it can make a huge difference.

what he means about set up; yes you take it to a guitar shop if you're not happy with sustain or it gets out of tune or anything, and they adjust string height and truss rod and pickup height and tuners and maybe do something to the nut and whatever you know :P they set it up so that the guitar is adjusted perfectly. You pay for how many hours of work they do. Probably a bit more than he said, but it depends on the shop.

dig that 70's ovation 'deacon' (or breadwinner'?) on the back wall above the sunburst strat...they 'played' (fake playing) those on 'the partridge family' tv show sometimes...

they're usually much lighter than a real paul. and plastic, not pearl inlays, and the pickups not the same though they have upgraded them. real l-paul standards somehow went from $1500 up to 2600/3000 real fast in the 1990's...i guess they figured if people were spending that kind of money on a home computer... i'd get a real sg with p-90's for 1 bill instead. just like so cool |
