The beauty of this and all great insult comedy is that while it seems horrific on the surface, the truth is that the comic is obviously just kidding, and that everyone's in on the joke and loving every second of it. They WANT to be insulted! This is seriously funny.

When I was a kid watching Rickles, I was unnerved, but as I got older of course I got it. He's great. They know he totally doesn't mean it. Thanks for the post.

That's the thing I don't understand. Don was good friends with a lot of these actors so it was okay for him to skewer them.Don was just, simply, the best. That and actors today are far too sensitive.

Damn, he was VICIOUS! It's really amazing, comedians today are afraid to really skewer actors. Look at David Spade. Before he was famous, he was mean. Then he got some friends in Hollywood, and how he's afraid to say anything funny. |
