With many laser pointers this may not be wise (especially the red ones) as this causes the laser to 'overheat' after only a little bit of use. I've tried this with six lasers now, and so far none of the cheapo red lasers have lasted more than 12 hours of use before they begin to lose brightness and eventually burn out like overcharged LEDs. The green ones fare better but still decay noticeably.I HIGHLY SUGGEST that anyone trying this do so with a laser pointer they don't care about.Thanks!
