This song wasn't just a huge hit in the mid-west or with "blacks... that populate the ghettos". I'm a white, female dancer from the southeast. This song plays at every dance I go to, and EVERYONE runs to the dance floor to do their thing.

I agree, the song is trash! The only reason it is big in the 'mid-west' is because the region is filled with blacks - they are truly idiots that populate the ghettos. And the cupid shuffle (the dance) is like crab walking!

Most of the negative comments made here were obviously made by people who don't dance.I'm a dj & I'm not saying that the song is a masterpiece by far, but if you play that song in the southern region, the dancefloor will be packed. It's much like line dancing,The Electric Slide, or The Harlem Shuffle.Remember people:"Different strokes for different folks"!
