If Ron Paul does not get elected all hope I have that constitutional government can be restored will die and I will go back to making videos of cute kittens so I can at least put a smile on peoples faces as they cope with the new police state.

The Republican party is now under the control of the religious right (see theocracywatch dot org) and neoconservatives (see entry in sourcewatch dot org), not conservatives. I don't know to what degree those who say they are liberal feel represented by the Democratic party but conservatives have no representation outside of a few Republicans like presidential candidate Rep Ron Paul. Moderates probably feel equally unrepresented. aloha :)

The Neoconservatives come from the far left of the Democrat party who believe that the breakdown of society after the reforms of the 60' proved that people were too stupid to handle freedom. The were joined by Republicans with the same view and seized upon a political philosopher named Leo Strauss who's theories were steeped heavily in nazi philosophy. They believe in order to take freedom away it has to be replaced with the type of myths told to children about destiny and good vs evil.

That is such a naive take on the political landscape. Any discussion on the liberal\conservative issue that does not define the Neoconservative faction is worthless. Both parties have been running on the same issues for decades and no matter how much power either party gets they never make more than a show of fulfilling their campaign promises. They need these polarizing issues for the next election because it brings out the one issue voters.

Thanks Grafinia!! I agree with you completely that this biased resolution will harm not only Americans' interests, but also Turkish interests, and World interests which need peace desperately now. Thanks for the people who use common sense.

oh how cliche, the liberals are really communists in disguise. What utter rubbish.

You really are an enigma. First you seem genuinely pleased to have appeared on Al Jazeera. Then you read a letter from a very conservative viewer. I agree with your thesis that the safety of our troops is paramount. Another fine video. |
