Gonzalo is not a "Chick clone." Although some influences from Chick sprinkle in Gonzalo's playing, I can tell the difference between both styles blind-folded. Both pianists share latin roots, but you really can't compare them. Both have very individual playing styles and grooves. Both Chick and Gonzalo are at the cream of the crop of the highest level in jazz today. Both pianists have influenced my own jazz piano playing to the max and inspired me to practice hours daily now

you poor thing! if I could play bass, I guess I'd be in exactly the same possie as you! I only sing occasionally and I LOVE hearing a solid bassist...even if they do wander off their tree every coupla bars. (why not, when you can) This combo is hot, hot. [Sorry, the last 'hot' burnt me] Yeeow.

omg - that's a mean-mother minute of montuno around the 3min mark!! Technically tantalising, is all I can say...

Gonzalo é um virtuose, toca com a alma e com uma técnica impressionante. certamente um dos maiores pianistas da atualidade

I don't know what to make of this sort of jazz. It seems as if there is no where to go besides taking it to its technical extremity. |
