The red button reveals the answer. He was supposed to Flip or Flop or Flip Flop to guess the right price. But the guy was being a smartass and trying to be funny by revealing the answer; by cheating. It's like if you're playing clue, and a guy is supposed to guess who did it, and he opens the envelope to reveal the answer.
