Very true, Green's influence is often overlooked. Santana and his band often played with Mac in the USA before Peter left. My apologies if I seemed a little rude!

Yep. I know Peter Green wrote it. It doesn't seem to be mentioned too often that Carlos Santana was indeed influenced by Green.By both Green's guitar playing and Green's songs. What I meant to say was it's Peter Green with that particular guitar sound before Santana came on the scene. Hence it's like Santana before Santana. Just an expression. Didn't mean for the comment to be misunderstood.

Erm... Peter Green WROTE Black Magic Woman. He also wrote a similar song 'I Loved Another Woman' from their self-titled debut. He was a big fan of blues in Dm, it seems.

I'll neva forget hearing this song on a rainy day driving down a lonely road, damn Peter Green is an amazing guitarist. I remember reading somewhere he took 'cid and saw God. He then sold all of his belongings, pretty wyld.

Peter Green wasn't bipolar. He was mentally ill, but not bipolar (manic-depessive).More like schizophrenia, triggered by some bad acid.

Peter "gave" that guitar to Gary Moore for $50. I saw it at a Dallas guitar show and it's insured for 10 million bucks.

This was recorded using the 1959 sunburst Les Paul Standard that Green later sold to Gary Moore. In an interview, Peter Green mentioned that that particular Les Paul seemed to sustain easily, & he just stood close to the amplifier for those sustained notes in this tune. |
