Sigh.... this is showing my age here...Peter Lorre was the short actor with bulged eyes from the 40's 50's with very nasal sound - very eerie looking and usually played in movies that involved crime. If you remember Raiders of the Lost Ark, the man who tried to steal the pendant at the bar, the one who burned the impression on his hand (in the beginning of the movie) is the image of Peter Lorrie somewhat.
