Well thank you for having done to research! So many people are naive and closed minded about satire, and frankly, life in general.

I believe it's from a show called Randy Newman Live I once had on VHS - originally shown on HBO- and it was done in Los Angeles in 82 or 83.

Where and when is this?

I think this is a really good song becuase it expresses how southeners feel that are not racists. We are painted as stupid racists when that could be further from the truth. It shows also that the people up North are no better than those back home down South becuase of how the black community is suppressed.

As a black man I first heard this song and I got a little upset, but after doing some research on Randy and his peculiar use of satire; I found this song to be extremely entertaining. Much like John Lennon's 'Women are the Niggers of the World'.

Can you imagine how lucky you'd be to see Randy Newman in a venue this small? rats.

Naturally. Over-reaching one's vocabulary usually is a sign of pretension, just fyi.
