I like that the G90 uses the smaller manufacturing processes as opposed to the older 8800GTS etc, i just wish EVGA put a better heatsink over the gpu. Reguardless, even running at the insane overclocking speeds, my 8800's only get to Max at 60C and thats only play Crysis. I have my Antec 900 Case to thank and cant forget the double din Antec PCI Case Cooler ;) Everything in my comp runs cooooooooool.

yeh lol. Im sure if you overclock a 8800gt you could get to close GTX/Ultra speeds. After all the smaller GPU Lethography (65nm) should alllow better overclock with less heat

u are absolutely correct and i acually knew that- i dont know why i said G90, i just got cought up in writing my comment.

No. The 8800 Ultra uses G80 and the 8800gt use the G92 core.
illmagnified (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Thats true, they both use the G90 Core, its just the Ultra Core has a higher memory interface and bus meaning more memory bandwidth. If you put that same interface on the GT G90 core, it would SMOKE the 8800GTX G80 Core and thats without overclocking. If Nvidia decided to put a 384Bit memery interface on the 8800GT like the GTX- there would be no reason to make an Ultra. Hands down.

Not very Well. But they do. Just Barely.

Oh I didn't know games as far back as 1999 could use SLI, thanks!

2x 8800gt will own one 8800 ultra. the 8800gt isnt that far away from an ultra |
