This is a late reply, but better late than never. When we were deciding where to end the vid, we decided to purposefully leave out the explosion to fit in with the lyrics. The whole song is spent waiting for a sign, the bell tolling at the very end of the song reminded me of a clock's tolling, and so we decided to end with suspense. It seemed more dramatic to us than just going for the explosion.
