Each guy (Paice and Bonham) had equal skill and facility, though I think Bonham's sound came from the way he struck the drum as well as tuning. Ian is still alive. Sadly, John couldn't control his demons, and paid the ultimate price for it.Without these two guys, you wouldn't have Portnoy, Lars, Jordanson,Etc....Bow down to the early masters!

The Paice Bonham thing is trully overated. Paice is the clear winner as far as skill and bonham has a better deeper sound .

Yes, in the new world order, there will be no comparing of drummers on youtube, or anything else that this self-proclaimed thought cop forbids. The penalties will be severe. You've been warned.

If all these twatheads could stop comparing drummers, the comments section would be kind of fun to read. Cheers!

the older I get, the more I appreciate drummers like Paice & Bonham along with the old master Buddy Rich

Sandy Nelson. There´s a drummer! Much better than this guy. He ought to get a haircut and a descent job.

are you saying that ian paice or john bonham are comparable to charlie watts. Look, I really LOVE the stones but in my opinion charlie watt sucks as a rock drummer. I've heard him play jazz and his a nice jazz drummer but as a rock musician he can't compare to people like bonham or paice. They have influenced hundreds of new drummers and changed the way people used to think about drums. |
