~~~~~NOTE: Before reading, notice there is a video response to Curtis Mayfield.~~~~~Kanye can't be compared to Curtis Mayfield. He's just another wanna be to a GREAT ARTIST before him. Curtis Mayfield sufferred from making his music. Did Kanye? Kanye's arrogance made him believe his NAME should be in the BIBLE. WTF is he smoking!? Let alone copy the melody of Curtis Mayfield song "Move On Up."Curtis Mafield = A True Artist
What do you think of Ben Harper and Michael Franti, for two examples?
I dont think we'll ever see musical genius like this from Black America's current roster of "artists". All the creativity, musicianship and ingenuity has been squeezed and pushed out of our communities as people are continuously dumbed down and force-fed this bullshit they call music nowadays. I pray the spirits of great black musicians and artists will save black american music and culture - jazz, blues, gospel, soul, funk, r&b, hip-hop, house, etc...before we forget how real music is made.
i think i was born 20 years to late and on the wrong side of the Atlantic Ocean. Right back to Bessie Banks i love all of this. I remember hearing this in a bar in Dover Street in London and it going right through me.
