Are you - seriously - saying that people commit suicide because cars are expensive????As for taxes - does it really matter if you pay for health insurance through an HMO or insurer or through an NHS-like system. You may pay 18% taxes - but then you have to pay tuition, insurance, pensions, which in my pay slip is covered by my taxes. Plus ca change.

No. 16 is one of the highest rates - the ex USSR has most of the higher ones. Some of my personal experience is dated - when I was in Iceland a US car cost 3 times as much; ditto liquor. Many of the younger adults I knew were sunk in debt and alcoholism. What's the average tax rate in the socialist EU? I'm lucky to have higher than average earnings and I paid about 18% taking standard deductions. I own my farm and have no debt and I'm happy, maybe in spite my country's leadership.

The high suicide rate has been connected to the lack of sunlight for large portions of the year. If you're going to talk debt, no nation is more in debt, on a national and an individual level, than the United States. That is directly related to cutting taxes and promoting a consumption culture because its good for business.

Oil companies don't make a loss on it so they don't need to recover their loss. Of course they will raise prices (price elasticity) increasing their profits and subduing the effect of the tax abolishment.

Coincidentally Finland is also the most gun loving country of Europe. Of course that would make for a flimsy argument as well but I'm just throwing it out there. Besides the whole "Scandinavians are miserable because of tax" is factually completely wrong. In fact they rate among the (self described) 'Happiest' Denmark IS the happiest country according to that rating.

I think that anyone that doesn't vote for Obama either has prejudices or is plain dumb. I'm European, so it's not my place to tell the American public how to vote, but the U.S. is a world leader and everything she does has global ramifications. A 3rd term for Bush (i.e. McCain) will further destabalize the world. While Hilary is 2-faced & flip-flops on policies (i.e.Bancruptcy Bill & Iraq) & she's unpopular abroad. Whereas Obama is a man of vision & hope. Obama is the only vote that makes sense

Obama voted for gas-tax relief in his state senate and now he is against it when people need it the most? He says Hillary only has tricks and he is the only one with long-term plan.Such lies, Hillery has better long-term energy plan than he does in addition to her short-term relief with the oil profits going to highway fund, preventing price gouging.Obama is nothing but a lying politician who will saying anything to make himself look good, including calling his own grandmother a racist. |
